大学开学英语作文 篇一

First Day of College

The first day of college is an exciting and nerve-wracking experience for every freshman. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives and is filled with anticipation and uncertainty. I vividly remember my first day of college and the mixed emotions I felt.

As I stepped onto the campus, I was immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere. The campus was bustling with students, both new and returning, all eager to start the new semester. The sight of the beautiful buildings and well-manicured lawns filled me with a sense of awe and wonder. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement to be a part of this prestigious institution.

One of the highlights of the first day was the orientation program organized by the college. It was designed to help us familiarize ourselves with the campus, meet fellow students, and learn about the various resources available to us. The orientation leaders did an excellent job of making us feel welcome and answering any questions we had. Through ice-breaking activities and group discussions, I quickly made new friends and felt a sense of belonging within the college community.

Attending the first classes was both exhilarating and intimidating. The professors were knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, and their enthusiasm was contagious. However, the workload and expectations were higher than what I was accustomed to in high school. I realized that college would require a greater level of dedication and self-discipline.

Overall, my first day of college was a memorable experience. It was a day filled with new faces, new places, and new possibilities. It marked the beginning of a transformative journey that would shape me into the person I am today. Although there were challenges ahead, I was determined to make the most of my college years and seize every opportunity for growth and learning.

Adjusting to College Life

Starting college is a major milestone in one's life. It is a time of transition and adjustment as students leave behind the familiar surroundings of home and embark on a new chapter in a new environment. Adjusting to college life can be challenging, but with the right mindset and strategies, it can also be a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

One of the biggest challenges in adjusting to college life is homesickness. Being away from family and friends can be difficult, especially during the first few weeks. It is important to stay connected with loved ones through phone calls, video chats, and social media. Additionally, making new friends and building a support system within the college community can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and homesickness.

Another aspect of college life that requires adjustment is the academic workload. College courses are more demanding and require a higher level of independent study compared to high school. Time management and organizational skills become crucial in order to juggle classes, assignments, and extracurricular activities. Developing a study schedule and seeking help from professors or tutors when needed can make the transition smoother.

Living in a dormitory or shared accommodation is often a new experience for college students. Learning to live with roommates and adapting to a different living environment can be challenging. Clear communication and mutual respect are essential in order to establish a harmonious living situation. Participating in dormitory activities and joining clubs or organizations on campus can also help students forge new friendships and create a sense of community.

Lastly, taking care of one's physical and mental well-being is crucial during the college transition. The demands of college life can be overwhelming, but it is important to prioritize self-care. Getting enough sleep, eating well, and engaging in regular exercise can help manage stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, seeking support from counseling services or student support groups can provide valuable guidance and assistance during this transitional period.

In conclusion, adjusting to college life is a process that takes time and patience. It is important to remember that everyone goes through this adjustment period and that it is a normal part of the college experience. By staying connected with loved ones, managing time effectively, building a support system, and prioritizing self-care, students can navigate the challenges of college life and thrive in their new environment.

  My first week at USTB

With great expectation and curiosity, I came to the USTB Looking at the place I will stay at for 4 years, I felt as if I’ve already been involved in it.

It is the dorm that firstly surprised me.

Compared with the room for eight, new room gave me more free space.

The comfortable bed and the combinational shelf promised me a pleasant living surroundings.

What’s the most, the public bath just located across from my room.

As for the dining hall, I couldn’t require it better.

Although it’s not magnificent, its persities of food and cheap dish price can make up.

However, I hope one day it could be like the dining hall of Harford, another library, where everyone read and studied as well.

To be honest, there are many changed things, of which I felt the most different is the time schedule.

There’s no one telling you what to do or when to do in college.

  You need to your time’s

master.

Balanced time schedule can not only help make you relaxed, but can also improved the quality of your life.

Those are what I felt and saw in my first week in USTB.

To pave the way to my brilliant future, I’ll go straight hopefully and bravely.

It's already March of 2015, and I have to begin a new semester in Zhejiang University.

There has been a great change in me since I graduated from high school.

Here, in Zhejiang University, no one would push you to study except yourself.

How much you learn only depends on your attitude.

To be honest, I am not quite satisfied with the G.

  P.A.

I got in the last semester, for I realized that I am not so diligent as I had imagined.

Therefore, in this new semester, I will push myself harder.

I will get up earlier to get a front-row seat.

In my free time, I will spend more time in the library to read some English biological documents.

And above all, I ought to study all my basic subjects well and get a better G.

  P.A.

As for English learning, I think I have an advantage in writing and reading skills while my listening and speaking skills are not so good.

So in this semester, I will try to become more outgoing, speak more and practice more, in order to get myself prepared for the oversea studying in the future.

As the saying goes, "A good beginning is half done.

" From now on, I will start a new life and chase the dream of my childhood.
