我的中秋节英语作文 篇一

My Memorable Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, which usually falls in September. This festival is a time for family reunions and enjoying the beautiful full moon.

One Mid-Autumn Festival that I will never forget is the one I celebrated with my family a few years ago. It was a clear and cool night, and the moon was shining brightly in the sky. My parents, grandparents, and I gathered in our backyard, where we had set up a table filled with delicious food and mooncakes.

As we sat around the table, my grandparents shared stories about their childhood and how they used to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. They talked about how they would light lanterns and play with firecrackers, and how they would make wishes while looking at the moon. It was fascinating to hear about their traditions and how they differed from our modern celebrations.

After the meal, we lit some lanterns and went for a walk in the park. The park was filled with families and children playing with lanterns, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere. I remember feeling a sense of unity and happiness as we walked together, admiring the beautiful lanterns and enjoying each other's company.

When we returned home, we found a perfect spot in the backyard to set up our telescope. The clear sky allowed us to see the moon in all its glory. We took turns looking through the telescope, marveling at the craters and the detailed surface of the moon. It was a magical experience, feeling so close to something that seemed so far away.

As the night came to an end, we lit some sparklers and watched as they illuminated the sky with their vibrant colors. We made wishes and shared our hopes and dreams for the future. It was a moment of reflection and gratitude, appreciating the time we had spent together and the love we shared as a family.

That Mid-Autumn Festival will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a time of love, laughter, and connection. It reminded me of the importance of family and the joy that can be found in simple traditions. I will cherish those memories forever.

The Significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a time for family reunions and mooncakes but also a celebration of traditional Chinese culture and values. It is a festival that dates back thousands of years and holds great importance in Chinese society.

One of the main aspects of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the worship of the moon. The moon has been a symbol of beauty, purity, and rejuvenation in Chinese culture for centuries. During the festival, families gather together to admire the full moon and make wishes for a better future. It is believed that the moon is at its brightest and roundest on this day, symbolizing unity and completeness.

Another important tradition during the Mid-Autumn Festival is the exchange of mooncakes. Mooncakes are round pastries filled with sweet fillings such as lotus seed paste or red bean paste. They are often given as gifts to family members and friends as a way of expressing love and gratitude. The round shape of the mooncakes represents completeness and harmony, and the act of sharing them reinforces the importance of unity and togetherness.

The festival is also a time for children to play with lanterns. Traditional lanterns are made of colorful paper and shaped like animals or mythical creatures. Children carry these lanterns while walking in the park or participating in lantern parades. It is a joyful and lively sight, with lanterns of all shapes and sizes lighting up the night sky. This tradition not only brings joy to the children but also symbolizes the hope for a bright future.

In addition to these traditions, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for families to come together and enjoy a bountiful feast. It is a time to appreciate the abundance of the harvest season and give thanks for the food on the table. Families often prepare special dishes and share a meal filled with love and laughter. This reinforces the importance of family and the value of cherishing the time spent together.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of Chinese culture, traditions, and values. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity. The festival reminds us of the importance of family, the beauty of nature, and the hope for a brighter future. Whether it is through admiring the moon, sharing mooncakes, playing with lanterns, or simply spending time with loved ones, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time to appreciate the simple joys in life and create lasting memories.

  中秋节英语作文【1】

That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind.

I will always re-member: East or West, home is best.

Secondly, I'11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day.

  Look!There's a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly.

All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air.

They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky.

That is a family reunion dinner.

The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family.

I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world.

Firstly, I'd like to say something about the moon.

I like it very much because I want to be an astronaut in the future.

That day the moon is round, big, just like a beautiful plate hanging on the blue cloth.

When I see the moon, I will remember the ancient myths——the godess Chang Er and her little rabbit are playing under the tree which Wu Gang grows.

I will also think about Armstrong's first moonwalk.

I will also miss the friends in Tai-wan island, in Macao and Chinese people who are abroad.

I know they are missing us very much, too.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China.

Everybody likes it because it's a family get-together.

You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day",so it often comes in September or October.

It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month.

Now, let's say something about this interesting festival.

Thirdly,it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day.

My wishes are: the first, I, an astronaut in the future, would like to go to the moon one day, and stay with the sky and stars; the second, I hope every person in the world will stay with family, share love from the family forever; the third, I hope everybody's dream will come true.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most important holidays in the Chinese calendar (the other being the Chinese Lunar New Year), and is a legal holiday in several countries.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has all interesting history.

Long ago in one of the dynasties of China there was a king who was very cruel to the people and did not manage the country well.

The people were so angry that some brave ones suggested killing the king.

So they wrote notes telling about the meeting place and time and put them into cakes.

On the 15th day of the 8th lunar month every person was told to buy the cakes.

When they ate them they discovered the notes.

So they gathered together to make a sudden attack on the king.

From then on the Chinese people celebrate on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month and eat "moon cakes" in memory of that important event.

Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date.

Traditionally,on this day,Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together.

It is also commmon to have barbecues outside under the moon, and to put pomelo rinds on one‘s head.

Brightly lit lanterns are often carried around by children.

Together with the celebration, there appear some special customs in different parts of the country, such as burning incense, planting Mid-Autumn trees, lighting lanterns on towers, and fire dragon dances.

Shops selling mooncakes, before the festival, often display pictures of Chang‘e,floating to the moon.
