Title: Reflections on the English Debate Competition

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed judges, and fellow participants,

It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today to reflect on our experience in the English Debate Competition. The competition has been an incredible journey, filled with challenges, growth, and camaraderie. Today, I would like to share my thoughts on the competition, highlighting our achievements, areas for improvement, and the valuable lessons we have learned.

First and foremost, I am incredibly proud of our team's accomplishments. We have worked tirelessly to research, prepare, and deliver compelling arguments on a wide range of thought-provoking topics. Our ability to think critically, organize our thoughts coherently, and present them persuasively has improved significantly throughout the competition. This has not only enhanced our language skills but also honed our ability to think on our feet and respond effectively to opposing arguments.

Moreover, the competition has fostered a strong sense of teamwork among us. We have learned to trust and rely on one another, recognizing the importance of collaboration and cooperation. Each team member has brought their unique strengths, perspectives, and expertise to the table, contributing to our overall success. Our unity and support for each other have been instrumental in overcoming the challenges we faced and achieving our shared goals.

However, as with any endeavor, there are areas where we can improve. One aspect we should focus on is time management during the debates. There were instances where we struggled to allocate our time effectively, leading to rushed conclusions or missed opportunities to refute opposing arguments. By practicing and refining our time management skills, we can ensure that we make the most of the limited time allotted to us in future debates.

Additionally, we should strive to enhance our research skills. While our arguments were well-founded and supported, further in-depth research could have strengthened our positions even more. By delving deeper into the chosen topics, exploring different perspectives, and substantiating our claims with concrete evidence, we can enhance the credibility and persuasiveness of our arguments.

Lastly, I would like to emphasize the importance of sportsmanship in debate competitions. While the stakes are high, it is crucial to maintain respect and fairness towards our opponents. Engaging in constructive dialogue and actively listening to opposing viewpoints not only enriches the debate but also promotes a healthy exchange of ideas. Let us always remember that the goal is not solely to win but to engage in intellectual discourse that broadens our horizons and fosters mutual understanding.

In conclusion, the English Debate Competition has been an enriching experience that has facilitated our personal and intellectual growth. We have achieved significant milestones, developed strong teamwork skills, and learned valuable lessons for the future. As we move forward, let us embrace the lessons learned, build upon our strengths, and continue to strive for excellence in all our future endeavors.

Thank you.

Some people hold that the newspaper is bound to be media of the past.

To start with, time plays the most important role.

As is shown, what has been in the newspaper is outdated.

That is to say, if we want to approach the latest news, newspaper is simply not a good way.

  For example, on Sept.

11, the moment the event took place, Internet and TV followed right away.

Thats just what technology has brought us.

To follow is its limitation in reporting news.

No newspaper can present all aspects of our life, for each serves a different goal.

That means we have to consult different newspapers to meet our different needs.

Compared with other ways of media, computer, for instance, through which we can get everything we want to know with only a little tapping of our fingers, is superior.

Quite on the contrary, others hold the opinion that even with the development of science and technology, newspaper, as symbol of the traditional media, wont disappear, for some of its advantages cant be replaced.

First of all, its convenient to carry about wherever you are.

Newspapers can be easily packed in your suitcase, and can be bought everywhere.

How to imagine carrying a computer, only for several pieces of news? Second, newspapers offer a free choice for its readers.

Having a news paper, you can select what you do or do not want to read while TV or radio or even computer will probably confine your eyes to those that you regard as rubbish.

  Last, newspapers offer comments.

Generally speaking, newspapers, especially formal ones, include formal remarks on the important events that provide you with a better understanding.

Concerning those two opposed opinions, I support the latter.

Though the highly developed science and technology influence almost every corner of the world and quicken the pace of globalization which makes the idea of "sharing the source" come true, newspaper, as the traditional way of media, cannot be abolished, not only because of its irreplaceable advantages but its collectability and its inner charm of witnessing the good old days.

The form changes, but the spirit never.

Well, my honorable judges, dear fellow debaters, after your conclusion, I can get your point.

Firstly, you said education is learning experience of our predecessors.

Second, you said the more education you have, the more likely you will succeed.

And last, you said the more education you have, the better you will appreciate our life.

  Yes, we agree that.

But all the evidences you presented are not adequate to prove that why education is more important than work experience.

We believe that work experience is more important than education.

First of all, you need experience to get a job, and you need a job to get experience.

Both education and experience are very important in finding a job, but experience is what the majority of employers want.

Just observe many of the job or career ads; you can see that they all emphasize 3 to 4 years experience in the particular field.

Also, most employers prefer experience over education.

The only time the employers look at education is only in the filed of education, nothing else.

We all learn by doing things.

We don’t think higher education you have, the more likely you will s

ucceed.

  Success is a complicated integration.

Education is only one of the factors.

Lots of facts have been proved that one can be succeed in many ways.

Second, education does not prepare you for real-world challenges.

Even though you can get high grades in paper exams, those numbers can not make you living better in real life.

How many high-mark students do not know how to cook, millions? billions? I dont know.

But I know such numbers is million, even billion times of those grades.

Higher education is absolutely not the guarantee of high ability, not to mention high pay.

We don’t think higher education means high pay; we just know the fact that the more education you have, the more bills you will pay.

Last but not the least; education will finally end in ones life .

Ironically the work experience would never end as long as one is willing to work.

Every one needs to work, that is the most significant thing in our life.

We get experience by doing things, and its those experience that get you ahead faster.

  We don’t think higher education.

We don’t think the more education you have, the better you will appreciate our life.

Life is just like a box of chocolate, you don’t know what you are going to get.

Every one has his own way to make life meaningful, and every one has his own way to appreciate his life, we can whose is better, whose is not.

So we conclude that work experience is more important than education.
