A Letter to a Friend (Article 1)
Dear [Friend's Name],
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It has been quite some time since we last spoke, and I thought it was about time to catch up and share some exciting news with you.
First and foremost, I wanted to tell you about my recent trip to Europe. It was an unforgettable experience filled with breathtaking sights, delicious food, and incredible cultural encounters. I visited several countries, including France, Italy, and Spain. In France, I explored the romantic streets of Paris and marveled at the beauty of the Eiffel Tower. In Italy, I indulged in mouthwatering pasta dishes and wandered through the ancient ruins of Rome. Finally, in Spain, I danced the night away at vibrant flamenco shows and enjoyed the stunning beaches of Barcelona. Each place had its own unique charm, and I couldn't have asked for a better adventure.
Apart from my travels, I also have some exciting news to share on the professional front. I recently got promoted at work, and I couldn't be happier. This promotion is the result of years of hard work and dedication, and I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way. With this new role, there will be more responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities for growth. I am both nervous and excited about what lies ahead, but I am confident that I can handle it with the support of my colleagues and friends like you.
On a personal note, I have also taken up a new hobby - painting. It has been a therapeutic and creative outlet for me, allowing me to express myself in ways I never thought possible. I have been experimenting with different techniques and styles, and it has been a truly fulfilling experience. I even had the opportunity to showcase some of my artwork at a local gallery, which was a proud moment for me.
I would love to hear about what you have been up to lately. How have you been? Have you embarked on any new adventures or pursued any new interests? Please do share your news, as I am eager to catch up and learn about your experiences.
I hope this letter brings a smile to your face and reminds you of the beautiful moments we have shared in the past. Let's not let time and distance come between us. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hopefully planning a reunion in the near future.
Take care, my dear friend.
Warm regards,

例如:My dear father,Dear Tom等。
例如:Dear Prof. Tim Scales, Dear Smith。

Dear Sir(to a man if the name is unknown)
Dear Madam(to a woman whose name is unknown)
Dear Sir/Madam(to cover both sexes)
Dear Mr Smith(for a man)
Dear Mrs Brown(for a married woman)
Dear Miss Jones(for a single woman)
Dear Ms Todd(Ms does not reveal the marital status of a woman)
在亲属、亲友的信中常看到“My dear”、“My dearest”、“My darling”这样的称呼语。
