Title: The Importance of High School English Exam Reform
Introduction:
The reform of high school English exams has been a hot topic in recent years. Many people have expressed their opinions on this issue. In my opinion, the reform of the English exam is necessary and beneficial for students.
Body:
Firstly, the current English exam places too much emphasis on rote memorization and grammar rules, rather than practical communication skills. Many students spend a large amount of time memorizing vocabulary and grammar structures, which hinders their ability to actually communicate in English. By reforming the exam, the focus can be shifted towards developing students' communication skills, such as speaking and writing, which are more practical and useful in real-life situations.
Secondly, the reform of the English exam can promote students' critical thinking and creativity. The current exam format often requires students to choose the correct answer from multiple choices or fill in the blanks with the right words. This type of exam format encourages students to think in a limited way and does not allow them to express their own ideas. By changing the exam format to include more open-ended questions, students will be encouraged to think critically and express their thoughts freely. This will help them develop their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, the reform of the English exam can better assess students' overall English proficiency. The current exam only assesses students' reading and listening skills, neglecting their speaking and writing abilities. However, in the real world, being able to communicate effectively in English is crucial. By including speaking and writing components in the exam, students' overall English proficiency can be more accurately evaluated, which will better prepare them for future academic and career pursuits.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the reform of high school English exams is necessary and beneficial for students. It can shift the focus towards practical communication skills, promote critical thinking and creativity, and better assess students' overall English proficiency. By implementing these reforms, we can better equip our students with the skills they need for success in the future.

Title: The Challenges of High School English Exam Reform
Introduction:
The reform of high school English exams has been a highly debated topic. While some argue that the reform is necessary for students' development, others believe that it poses certain challenges. In this essay, I will discuss the challenges that may arise from the reform of the English exam.
Body:
Firstly, implementing a new exam format requires significant resources and training for teachers. The current exam format has been in place for many years, and teachers are familiar with its structure and content. If the exam is reformed, teachers will need to be trained on how to assess the new components, such as speaking and writing. This will require additional time, effort, and resources, which may be a challenge for schools with limited budgets and staff.
Secondly, the reform of the English exam may lead to increased pressure on students. The new exam format may require students to demonstrate their English proficiency in a more comprehensive way, which may result in higher expectations and increased stress. Students may feel overwhelmed by the additional workload and preparation required for the new format, which could negatively impact their mental well-being.
Furthermore, the reform of the English exam may face resistance from students who are accustomed to the current exam format. Some students may find it difficult to adapt to the new requirements, especially if they have been preparing for the current format for a long time. This resistance may affect their performance and motivation, leading to potential dissatisfaction and frustration.
Conclusion:
While the reform of high school English exams has its benefits, it also poses certain challenges. These challenges include the need for resources and training for teachers, increased pressure on students, and potential resistance to change. It is important for education policymakers to address these challenges in order to ensure a smooth transition and successful implementation of the reform.

According to the reform program of the college entrance examination that the Ministry of Education has made, some of the subjects will be examed many times in a year.People have different oppinions about this. Some say that this program give students more free time.Students can choose the exam time themself and it's obvious an effective way to improve their grades of the university entrance examination. On the other hand,if some of the subjects are finished ahead of time, students will be in less pressure during the time. There are also many people against the program while others are in favour of it.It wil increase the burden of the students by the frequently tests. Also,it is a waste of the education resource cause the exam costs more in this case. In my oppinion,to pass the exam before the reference time is a good way to relax ourselves while we are all under the pressure of the university entrance examination. So I'm looking forward to see the reform program to be brought into force. What about you? What's your idea of the program?

English, which has been one of the core subjects in China's national college entrance exam for almost 30 years, looks set to be reduced in importance (降低重要性)from 2016.
The current English test in the Gaokao is to be replaced by social English tests available to the public for several times every year. The exam's full mark of the test will also be lowered from 150 at present to 100. The test result will also be graded into levels A, B and C which will count towards the final Gaokao score.
This came amidst rumors sweeping online that English might be removed(退出) altogether from the Gaokao – a claim which has since been denied by the Beijing education authority – but not the central government. It is also said that the students' learning interests on Chinese language might be further aroused.
